It happened, late one afternoon, when David rose from his couch and was walking about on the roof of the king's house, that he saw from the roof a woman bathing; the woman was very beautiful.


“But now, hear my speech, O Job, and listen to all my words.


Turn my eyes from looking at vanities; give me life in your ways.


Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes;


and your kisses like the best wine that goes down smoothly, gliding over lips and teeth.


And if your eye causes you to stumble, tear it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and to be thrown into hell,


Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit,
