Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord rescues them from them all.


He keeps all their bones; not one of them will be broken.


You destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful.


For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips, let them be trapped in their pride. For the cursing and lies that they utter,

Because of their tongue he will bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake with horror.


The wise of heart will heed commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.


The righteous are delivered from trouble, and the wicked get into it instead.


The tongue of the wise dispenses knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.


Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.


To watch over mouth and tongue is to keep out of trouble.


you are snared by the utterance of your lips, caught by the words of your mouth.


It is good that you should take hold of the one, without letting go of the other; for the one who fears God shall succeed with both.
