Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you alone are righteous before me in this generation.


The possessions of their house will be carried away, dragged off in the day of God's wrath.


Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death.


In the path of righteousness there is life, in walking its path there is no death.


For jealousy arouses a husband's fury, and he shows no restraint when he takes revenge.


What will you do on the day of punishment, in the calamity that will come from far away? To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth,


even if Noah, Daniel, and Job, these three, were in it, they would save only their own lives by their righteousness, says the Lord God.


They shall fling their silver into the streets, their gold shall be treated as unclean. Their silver and gold cannot save them on the day of the wrath of the Lord. They shall not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it. For it was the stumbling block of their iniquity.


Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord's wrath; in the fire of his passion the whole earth shall be consumed; for a full, a terrible end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth.


For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?


But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’


If, because of the one man's trespass, death exercised dominion through that one, much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness exercise dominion in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.


for, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
