They stir up strife, they lurk, they watch my steps. As they hoped to have my life,


But I was like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter. And I did not know it was against me that they devised schemes, saying, “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, let us cut him off from the land of the living, so that his name will no longer be remembered!”


But if you do not listen to me, to keep the sabbath day holy, and to carry in no burden through the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates; it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem and shall not be quenched.


Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant-girl came to him and said, “You also were with Jesus the Galilean.”


Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's headquarters, and they gathered the whole cohort around him.


Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest; and he was sitting with the guards, warming himself at the fire.


While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant-girls of the high priest came by.


Then the soldiers led him into the courtyard of the palace (that is, the governor's headquarters); and they called together the whole cohort.


When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them.


during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness.


Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that anyone who knew where Jesus was should let them know, so that they might arrest him.


Then Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.


Then they took Jesus from Caiaphas to Pilate's headquarters. It was early in the morning. They themselves did not enter the headquarters, so as to avoid ritual defilement and to be able to eat the Passover.
