But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? She has performed a good service for me.


While he was saying these things to them, suddenly a leader of the synagogue came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”


Then one of the leaders of the synagogue named Jairus came and, when he saw him, fell at his feet


And he answers from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been locked, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.’


And Jesus went with them, but when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof;
