Happy are those who consider the poor; the Lord delivers them in the day of trouble.


You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.


Yet if they are caught, they will pay sevenfold; they will forfeit all the goods of their house.


if the wicked restore the pledge, give back what they have taken by robbery, and walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity—they shall surely live, they shall not die.


and shall confess the sin that has been committed. The person shall make full restitution for the wrong, adding one fifth to it, and giving it to the one who was wronged.


So give for alms those things that are within; and see, everything will be clean for you.


Sell your possessions, and give alms. Make purses for yourselves that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.


And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of dishonest wealth so that when it is gone, they may welcome you into the eternal homes.


All who saw it began to grumble and said, “He has gone to be the guest of one who is a sinner.”


When the Lord saw her, he had compassion for her and said to her, “Do not weep.”
