You shall not revile God, or curse a leader of your people.


There are those who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers.


The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures.


Do not curse the king, even in your thoughts, or curse the rich, even in your bedroom; for a bird of the air may carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter.


They assembled against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, “You have gone too far! All the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and the Lord is among them. So why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”


When it comes, it finds it swept and put in order.


When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, do not worry about how you are to defend yourselves or what you are to say;

If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.


Therefore whoever rejects this rejects not human authority but God, who also gives his Holy Spirit to you.

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls and will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with sighing—for that would be harmful to you.


Honor everyone. Love the family of believers. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
