John 19:18

For dogs are all around me; a company of evildoers encircles me. My hands and feet have shriveled;


Therefore I will allot him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out himself to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.


The bandits who were crucified with him also taunted him in the same way.


(This was to fulfill what Jesus had said when he indicated the kind of death he was to die.)


Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who had been crucified with him.


this man, handed over to you according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of those outside the law.
