I hate the double-minded, but I love your law.


Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.


If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.


“How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?


let the wicked forsake their way, and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.


I have seen your abominations, your adulteries and neighings, your shameless prostitutions on the hills of the countryside. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! How long will it be before you are made clean?


The sin of Judah is written with an iron pen; with a diamond point it is engraved on the tablet of their hearts, and on the horns of their altars,


Now, therefore, say to the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Thus says the Lord: Look, I am a potter shaping evil against you and devising a plan against you. Turn now, all of you from your evil way, and amend your ways and your doings.


Though you wash yourself with lye and use much soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me, says the Lord God.


Hear, O earth; I am going to bring disaster on this people, the fruit of their schemes, because they have not given heed to my words; and as for my teaching, they have rejected it.


Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed against me, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel?


do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath; for all these are things that I hate, says the Lord.


“Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree bad, and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.


Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.


Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!”


Repent therefore of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.


for though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened.


and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”


Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
