Then he said, “I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there.


But his father refused, and said, “I know, my son, I know; he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great. Nevertheless his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his offspring shall become a multitude of nations.”


For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?


“Thus says King Cyrus of Persia: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem in Judah.


For I was ashamed to ask the king for a band of soldiers and cavalry to protect us against the enemy on our way, since we had told the king that the hand of our God is gracious to all who seek him, but his power and his wrath are against all who forsake him.


For who is God except the Lord? And who is a rock besides our God?—


the God who girded me with strength, and made my way safe.


For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.


For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not remembered the Rock of your refuge; therefore, though you plant pleasant plants and set out slips of an alien god,


Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.


You shall have a song as in the night when a holy festival is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one sets out to the sound of the flute to go to the mountain of the Lord, to the Rock of Israel.


Tell us what is to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; do good, or do harm, that we may be afraid and terrified.


See, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth, I tell you of them.


You are my witnesses, says the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.


I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.


I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses, says the Lord.

but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has disclosed to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen at the end of days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed were these:


The king said to Daniel, “Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery!”


You shall be driven away from human society, and your dwelling shall be with the wild animals. You shall be made to eat grass like oxen, you shall be bathed with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you have learned that the Most High has sovereignty over the kingdom of mortals, and gives it to whom he will.


My God sent his angel and shut the lions' mouths so that they would not hurt me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no wrong.”


You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I, the Lord, am your God and there is no other. And my people shall never again be put to shame.

“Friends, why are you doing this? We are mortals just like you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.


Indeed their rock is not like our Rock; our enemies are fools.


See now that I, even I, am he; there is no god besides me. I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and no one can deliver from my hand.


The Rock, his work is perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God, without deceit, just and upright is he;


To you it was shown so that you would acknowledge that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him.


So acknowledge today and take to heart that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.


Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us,


this life was revealed, and we have seen it and testify to it, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us—


“There is no Holy One like the Lord, no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.
