Where now are your sages? Let them tell you and make known what the Lord of hosts has planned against Egypt.


Let them bring them, and tell us what is to happen. Tell us the former things, what they are, so that we may consider them, and that we may know their outcome; or declare to us the things to come.


Tell us what is to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; do good, or do harm, that we may be afraid and terrified.


Who declared it from the beginning, so that we might know, and beforehand, so that we might say, “He is right”? There was no one who declared it, none who proclaimed, none who heard your words.


Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord, am first, and will be with the last.


I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses, says the Lord.


Let all the nations gather together, and let the peoples assemble. Who among them declared this, and foretold to us the former things? Let them bring their witnesses to justify them, and let them hear and say, “It is true.”


Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the Lord? There is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is no one besides me.


From one ancestor he made all nations to inhabit the whole earth, and he allotted the times of their existence and the boundaries of the places where they would live,


When the Most High apportioned the nations, when he divided humankind, he fixed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the gods;
