Bold as a lion you hunt me; you repeat your exploits against me.


The Lord goes forth like a soldier, like a warrior he stirs up his fury; he cries out, he shouts aloud, he shows himself mighty against his foes.


Like a lion he has left his covert; for their land has become a waste because of the cruel sword, and because of his fierce anger.


Therefore a lion from the forest shall kill them, a wolf from the desert shall destroy them. A leopard is watching against their cities; everyone who goes out of them shall be torn in pieces— because their transgressions are many, their apostasies are great.


He is a bear lying in wait for me, a lion in hiding;


For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I myself will tear and go away; I will carry off, and no one shall rescue.


And he said: The Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds wither, and the top of Carmel dries up.


Does a lion roar in the forest, when it has no prey? Does a young lion cry out from its den, if it has caught nothing?


The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?


And the beast that I saw was like a leopard, its feet were like a bear's, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. And the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority.
