Far be it from you to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?”


The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.


the people whom I formed for myself so that they might declare my praise.


See, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples.


Though they bargain with the nations, I will now gather them up. They shall soon writhe under the burden of kings and princes.


The one who breaks out will go up before them; they will break through and pass the gate, going out by it. Their king will pass on before them, the Lord at their head.

He said to them, “Go and tell that fox for me, ‘Listen, I am casting out demons and performing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third day I finish my work.


“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!”


Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and then enter into his glory?”


and he said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day,


and not for the nation only, but to gather into one the dispersed children of God.


When Jesus had received the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.


and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.


God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior that he might give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.


For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.


and what if he has done so in order to make known the riches of his glory for the objects of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory—


But we speak God's wisdom, secret and hidden, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.


yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

so that through the church the wisdom of God in its rich variety might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.


When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.


Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they may also obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.


looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.


where Jesus, a forerunner on our behalf, has entered, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.


For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.


For the law appoints as high priests those who are subject to weakness, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever.


It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in regard to the things that have now been announced to you through those who brought you good news by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look!


Now as an elder myself and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as one who shares in the glory to be revealed, I exhort the elders among you


And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.


“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”


After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands.
