she called out to the members of her household and said to them, “See, my husband has brought among us a Hebrew to insult us! He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice;


Then she kept his garment by her until his master came home,


but as soon as I raised my voice and cried out, he left his garment beside me, and fled outside.”


When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Is it you, you troubler of Israel?”


The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows to bring down the poor and needy, to kill those who walk uprightly;


by the noise of the enemy, because of the clamor of the wicked. For they bring trouble upon me, and in anger they cherish enmity against me.


You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.


You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with the wicked to act as a malicious witness.


Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.


A false witness will not go unpunished, and a liar will not escape.


A false witness will not go unpunished, and the liar will perish.


A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.


Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? You have now heard his blasphemy.
