Happy are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.


I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.


May my heart be blameless in your statutes, so that I may not be put to shame.


No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.


but if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will change my mind about the disaster that I intended to bring on it.


It may be that they will listen, all of them, and will turn from their evil way, that I may change my mind about the disaster that I intend to bring on them because of their evil doings.


Because you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not disheartened them, and you have encouraged the wicked not to turn from their wicked way and save their lives;


withholds his hand from iniquity, takes no advance or accrued interest, observes my ordinances, and follows my statutes; he shall not die for his father's iniquity; he shall surely live.


Yet you say, “Why should not the son suffer for the iniquity of the father?” When the son has done what is lawful and right, and has been careful to observe all my statutes, he shall surely live.


Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, all of you according to your ways, says the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions; otherwise iniquity will be your ruin.


If a man is righteous and does what is lawful and right—


follows my statutes, and is careful to observe my ordinances, acting faithfully—such a one is righteous; he shall surely live, says the Lord God.


If, however, you warn the righteous not to sin, and they do not sin, they shall surely live, because they took warning; and you will have saved your life.


And when the wicked turn from their wickedness, and do what is lawful and right, they shall live by it.


I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.


Therefore, O king, may my counsel be acceptable to you: atone for your sins with righteousness, and your iniquities with mercy to the oppressed, so that your prosperity may be prolonged.”


Both of them were righteous before God, living blamelessly according to all the commandments and regulations of the Lord.


and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.


Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out,


for if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.


What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you?


For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead.
