8 When the king returned from the palace garden to the banquet hall, Haman had thrown himself on the couch where Esther was reclining; and the king said, “Will he even assault the queen in my presence, in my own house?” As the words left the mouth of the king, they covered Haman's face.

When these days were completed, the king gave for all the people present in the citadel of Susa, both great and small, a banquet lasting for seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace.


There were white cotton curtains and blue hangings tied with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and marble pillars. There were couches of gold and silver on a mosaic pavement of porphyry, marble, mother-of-pearl, and colored stones.


Then Mordecai returned to the king's gate, but Haman hurried to his house, mourning and with his head covered.


So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the anger of the king abated.


The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; he covers the eyes of its judges— if it is not he, who then is it?


The Lord is about to hurl you away violently, my fellow. He will seize firm hold on you,
