Today you have driven me away from the soil, and I shall be hidden from your face; I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and anyone who meets me may kill me.”


then hear in heaven, forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land that you gave to their ancestors.


For as you return to the Lord, your kindred and your children will find compassion with their captors, and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.”


but if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, though your outcasts are under the farthest skies, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place at which I have chosen to establish my name.’


Remember this and consider, recall it to mind, you transgressors,


I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.


Only acknowledge your guilt, that you have rebelled against the Lord your God, and scattered your favors among strangers under every green tree, and have not obeyed my voice, says the Lord.


Death shall be preferred to life by all the remnant that remains of this evil family in all the places where I have driven them, says the Lord of hosts.


Because they considered and turned away from all the transgressions that they had committed, they shall surely live; they shall not die.


Those of you who escape shall remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I was crushed by their wanton heart that turned away from me, and their wanton eyes that turned after their idols. Then they will be loathsome in their own sight for the evils that they have committed, for all their abominations.


Though I scattered them among the nations, yet in far countries they shall remember me, and they shall rear their children and return.


But when he came to himself he said, ‘How many of my father's hired hands have bread enough and to spare, but here I am dying of hunger!


The Lord will afflict you with madness, blindness, and confusion of mind;


The Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other; and there you shall serve other gods, of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known.


so the anger of the Lord was kindled against that land, bringing on it every curse written in this book.


The Lord uprooted them from their land in anger, fury, and great wrath, and cast them into another land, as is now the case.”


See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity.


I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live,


Indeed the Lord will vindicate his people, have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, neither bond nor free remaining.
