Ah, you destroyer, who yourself have not been destroyed; you treacherous one, with whom no one has dealt treacherously! When you have ceased to destroy, you will be destroyed; and when you have stopped dealing treacherously, you will be dealt with treacherously.


“Then they will hand you over to be tortured and will put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of my name.


“Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.


Remember the word that I said to you, ‘Servants are not greater than their master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also.


There they strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, “It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God.”


He came to us and took Paul's belt, bound his own feet and hands with it, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘This is the way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’ ”


Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”


We looked up the disciples and stayed there for seven days. Through the Spirit they told Paul not to go on to Jerusalem.


and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who invoke your name.”


But get up and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”


but as servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,


so that no one would be shaken by these persecutions. Indeed, you yourselves know that this is what we are destined for.


and for this reason I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know the one in whom I have put my trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard until that day what I have entrusted to him.


my persecutions and suffering the things that happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured! Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them.


If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory, which is the Spirit of God, is resting on you.


I, John, your brother who share with you in Jesus the persecution and the kingdom and the patient endurance, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
