Awesome is God in his sanctuary, the God of Israel; he gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!


a God feared in the council of the holy ones, great and awesome above all that are around him?


The haughty eyes of people shall be brought low, and the pride of everyone shall be humbled; and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.


the people whom I formed for myself so that they might declare my praise.


Sing, O heavens, for the Lord has done it; shout, O depths of the earth; break forth into singing, O mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, and will be glorified in Israel.


And he said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will be glorified.”


Your people shall all be righteous; they shall possess the land forever. They are the shoot that I planted, the work of my hands, so that I might be glorified.


And this city shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them; they shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it.


They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them.


Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, no divination against Israel; now it shall be said of Jacob and Israel, ‘See what God has done!’


“For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done.


Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”


“But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.


“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.


On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?’


I tell you, on that day it will be more tolerable for Sodom than for that town.


But when Jesus heard it, he said, “This illness does not lead to death; rather it is for God's glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”


All mine are yours, and yours are mine; and I have been glorified in them.


just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you—


the work of each builder will become visible, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done.


And they glorified God because of me.


so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, might live for the praise of his glory.


this is the pledge of our inheritance toward redemption as God's own people, to the praise of his glory.


so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints,


to the praise of his glorious grace that he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.


so that in the ages to come he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.


so that through the church the wisdom of God in its rich variety might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.


I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit,


because our message of the gospel came to you not in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of persons we proved to be among you for your sake.


You yourselves know, brothers and sisters, that our coming to you was not in vain,


urging and encouraging you and pleading that you lead a life worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.


We also constantly give thanks to God for this, that when you received the word of God that you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word but as what it really is, God's word, which is also at work in you believers.


so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.


But we must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the first fruits for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in the truth.


Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great: He was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.


and for this reason I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know the one in whom I have put my trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard until that day what I have entrusted to him.


—may the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! And you know very well how much service he rendered in Ephesus.


From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.


But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
