16 by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. Thus they have constantly been filling up the measure of their sins; but God's wrath has overtaken them at last.

Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.


At the end of their rule, when the transgressions have reached their full measure, a king of bold countenance shall arise, skilled in intrigue.


See, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.


Lo, I will send you the prophet Elijah before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.


Then it goes and brings along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and live there; and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So will it be also with this evil generation.”


Fill up, then, the measure of your ancestors.


And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations; and then the end will come.


And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet.


His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and will gather his wheat into the granary; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”


The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be condemned.


But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy; and blaspheming, they contradicted what was spoken by Paul.


But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, and stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their region.


But Jews came there from Antioch and Iconium and won over the crowds. Then they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.


But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.


And when an attempt was made by both Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to mistreat them and to stone them,


But when the Jews of Thessalonica learned that the word of God had been proclaimed by Paul in Beroea as well, they came there too, to stir up and incite the crowds.


When some stubbornly refused to believe and spoke evil of the Way before the congregation, he left them, taking the disciples with him, and argued daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.


They have been told about you that you teach all the Jews living among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, and that you tell them not to circumcise their children or observe the customs.


In the morning the Jews joined in a conspiracy and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.


The Jews also joined in the charge by asserting that all this was true.


where the chief priests and the leaders of the Jews gave him a report against Paul. They appealed to him


When he arrived, the Jews who had gone down from Jerusalem surrounded him, bringing many serious charges against him, which they could not prove.


There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved.”


After some time had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him,


just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, so that they may be saved.


But my friends, why am I still being persecuted if I am still preaching circumcision? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.


I pray therefore that you may not lose heart over my sufferings for you; they are your glory.


Although I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given to me to bring to the Gentiles the news of the boundless riches of Christ,


and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath that is coming.


and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.


who desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.


But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is worthless and on the verge of being cursed; its end is to be burned over.


Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”
