I told them that the hand of my God had been gracious upon me, and also the words that the king had spoken to me. Then they said, “Let us start building!” So they committed themselves to the common good.


I could encourage you with my mouth, and the solace of my lips would assuage your pain.


Iron sharpens iron, and one person sharpens the wits of another.


Perfume and incense make the heart glad, but the soul is torn by trouble.


Because you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not disheartened them, and you have encouraged the wicked not to turn from their wicked way and save their lives;


but I have prayed for you that your own faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”


Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength.


Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power.


But charge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, because it is he who shall cross over at the head of this people and who shall secure their possession of the land that you will see.”


You then, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus;


David was in the Wilderness of Ziph at Horesh when he learned that Saul had come out to seek his life.


David was in great danger; for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in spirit for their sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
