It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in mortals.


Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning, for in you I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.


and have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a broad place.


For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.


Ha! You who hide a plan too deep for the Lord, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?”


It was the Lord who made it known to me, and I knew; then you showed me their evil deeds.


And before him no creature is hidden, but all are naked and laid bare to the eyes of the one to whom we must render an account.


The men of Judah said, “Why have you come up against us?” They said, “We have come up to bind Samson, to do to him as he did to us.”


And now, will Saul come down as your servant has heard? O Lord, the God of Israel, I beseech you, tell your servant.” The Lord said, “He will come down.”


Now, O king, whenever you wish to come down, do so; and our part will be to surrender him into the king's hand.”


Now it was told Saul that David had come to Keilah. And Saul said, “God has given him into my hand; for he has shut himself in by entering a town that has gates and bars.”
