I will give you understanding, and I will instruct you in this way, in which you will walk. I will fix my eyes upon you.


A Psalm of David, when he was in the desert of Idumea.


Woe to you who use the depths of the heart, so that you may hide your intentions from the Lord. Their works are done in darkness, and so they say: "Who sees us?" and "Who knows us?"


But you, O Lord, have revealed this to me, and I have understood. Then you displayed their efforts to me.


And there is no created thing that is invisible to his sight. For all things are naked and open to the eyes of him, about whom we are speaking.


And some from the tribe of Judah said to them, "Why have you ascended against us?" And they responded, "We have come to bind Samson, and to repay him for what he has done to us."


Will the men of Keilah deliver me into his hands? And will Saul descend, just as your servant has heard? O Lord God of Israel, reveal to your servant." And the Lord said, "He will descend."


Now therefore, if your soul has desired to descend, then descend. Then it will be for us to deliver him into the hands of the king."


Then it was reported to Saul that David had gone to Keilah. And Saul said: "The Lord has delivered him into my hands. For he is enclosed, having entered into a city which has gates and bars."
