‘ “Have you not heard? Long ago I ordained it. In days of old I planned it; now I have brought it to pass, that you have turned fortified cities into piles of stone.


The memory of him perishes from the earth; he has no name in the land.


but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth.


The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.


He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire.


then let my enemy pursue and overtake me; let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust.


Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
