Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.


May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, ‘The Lord be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant.’


But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, ‘The Lord is great!’


The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they dip their feet in the blood of the wicked.


The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with corn; they shout for joy and sing.


But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful.


the children of his servants will inherit it, and those who love his name will dwell there.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?


‘Rejoice over her, you heavens! Rejoice, you people of God! Rejoice, apostles and prophets! For God has judged her with the judgment she imposed on you.’


‘So may all your enemies perish, O Lord! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.’ Then the land had peace for forty years.
