Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion – which is the City of David.


When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, this word of the Lord came to Shemaiah: ‘Since they have humbled themselves, I will not destroy them but will soon give them deliverance. My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak.


Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures for ever.


Praise be to the Lord from Zion, to him who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the Lord.


The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.


From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.


You are as beautiful as Tirzah, my darling, as lovely as Jerusalem, as majestic as troops with banners.


All who pass your way clap their hands at you; they scoff and shake their heads at Daughter Jerusalem: ‘Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?’
