Psalm 47:1

while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.


Jehoiada brought out the king’s son and put the crown on him; he presented him with a copy of the covenant and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and the people clapped their hands and shouted, ‘Long live the king!’


and the men of Judah raised the battle cry. At the sound of their battle cry, God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.


Save us, Lord our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.


As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.


God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.


God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets.


Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;


Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy;


You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.


This is what the Lord says: ‘Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nations. Make your praises heard, and say, “Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel.”


Sing, Daughter Zion; shout aloud, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem!


‘What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of “God bless it! God bless it!” ’


Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.


Samuel said to all the people, ‘Do you see the man the Lord has chosen? There is no-one like him among all the people.’ Then the people shouted, ‘Long live the king!’
