The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.


Nevertheless, the righteous will hold to their ways, and those with clean hands will grow stronger.


Even if I washed myself with soap and my hands with cleansing powder,


Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.


who despises a vile person but honours those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind;


The Lord has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.


In you, Lord my God, I put my trust.
