Let me not enter their council, let me not join their assembly, for they have killed men in their anger and hamstrung oxen as they pleased.

For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.


Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right.

He mocks proud mockers but shows favour to the humble and oppressed.


But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.


If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.


I never sat in the company of revellers, never made merry with them; I sat alone because your hand was on me and you had filled me with indignation.


‘But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
