Fire consumed their young men, and their young women had no wedding songs;


Therefore, the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will send a wasting disease upon his sturdy warriors; under his pomp a fire will be kindled like a blazing flame.


Heshbon and Elealeh cry out, their voices are heard all the way to Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry out, and their hearts are faint.


When Moab appears at her high place, she only wears herself out; when she goes to her shrine to pray, it is to no avail.


I will send fire on the walls of Tyre that will consume her fortresses.’


I will send fire on Teman that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.’


I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah that will consume her fortresses amid war cries on the day of battle, amid violent winds on a stormy day.

That is why the poets say: ‘Come to Heshbon and let it be rebuilt; let Sihon’s city be restored.
