Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, ‘Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.’


Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.


Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted, ‘Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!’


Jesus stopped and called them. ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ he asked.


As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, ‘Have mercy on us, Son of David!’


Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’


Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
