Then Jesus said to him, ‘See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.’


Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning:


When he saw them, he said, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went, they were cleansed.


Then Jesus ordered him, ‘Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.’


The commander dismissed the young man with this warning: ‘Don’t tell anyone that you have reported this to me.’


For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.


These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.
