‘When famine or plague comes to the land, or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers, or when an enemy besieges them in any of their cities, whatever disaster or disease may come,


‘But if the priest comes to examine it and the mould has not spread after the house has been plastered, he shall pronounce the house clean, because the defiling mould is gone.


Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and illness among the people.


News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralysed; and he healed them.


For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him.


Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.


He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’


When the men came to Jesus, they said, ‘John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” ’


because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.’
