Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honour.


News of this spread through all that region.


But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.


News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.


Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.


Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the lake, and a large crowd from Galilee followed.


Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: ‘Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.


Large crowds were travelling with Jesus, and turning to them he said:


and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the signs he had performed by healing those who were ill.


In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not obvious cannot remain hidden for ever.
