Coming to his home town, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. ‘Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?’ they asked.


Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali –


Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and illness among the people.


Jesus left there and went to his home town, accompanied by his disciples.


When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.


Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.


He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,


Then he went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he taught the people.


‘Be quiet!’ Jesus said sternly. ‘Come out of him!’ Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.


How can you say to your brother, “Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,” when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.


Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people,


So from now on we regard no-one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.
