‘I look for your deliverance, Lord.


‘Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd,


My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them.


‘Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.


As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus.


Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.


Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.


Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.


Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’


Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body.


There was a certain man from Ramathaim, a Zuphite from the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Elkanah son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.
