And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.’


The sceptre will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his.


The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,


For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.


and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.


She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.’


Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’


Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.


But why am I so favoured, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?


He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David


It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.


So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.


The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ).


Philip found Nathanael and told him, ‘We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’


‘Yes, Lord,’ she replied, ‘I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.’


But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.


The woman said, ‘I know that Messiah’ (called Christ) ‘is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.’


They said to the woman, ‘We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Saviour of the world.’


We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.’


Others said, ‘He is the Messiah.’ Still others asked, ‘How can the Messiah come from Galilee?


You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.


‘From this man’s descendants God has brought to Israel the Saviour Jesus, as he promised.


explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead. ‘This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah,’ he said.


‘Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.’


God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Saviour that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.


The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven.


and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.


What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ


So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,


And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.


Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
