To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so that they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.


At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, “Come, for everything is now ready.”


‘Another said, “I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.”


Jesus looked at him and said, ‘How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!


The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.


He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.


yet you refuse to come to me to have life.


though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more:


for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia.


They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.


See that no-one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.
