So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.


The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.


the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.


I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning.


Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God.


Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.


Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and illness among the people.


Jesus asked the boy’s father, ‘How long has he been like this?’ ‘From childhood,’ he answered.


When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, ‘Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.’


Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?’


When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.’


and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out;


When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs.


And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no-one could heal her.


Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.


For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.
