It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!


Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.


News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralysed; and he healed them.


But the Pharisees said, ‘It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons.’


Many of them said, ‘He is demon-possessed and raving mad. Why listen to him?’


‘You are demon-possessed,’ the crowd answered. ‘Who is trying to kill you?’


The Jews answered him, ‘Aren’t we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?’


At this they exclaimed, ‘Now we know that you are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet you say that whoever obeys your word will never taste death.
