Then King Asa issued an order to all Judah – no-one was exempt – and they carried away from Ramah the stones and timber Baasha had been using there. With them King Asa built up Geba in Benjamin, and also Mizpah.


Josiah brought all the priests from the towns of Judah and desecrated the high places, from Geba to Beersheba, where the priests had burned incense. He broke down the gateway at the entrance of the Gate of Joshua, the city governor, which was on the left of the city gate.


And from the tribe of Benjamin they were given Gibeon, Geba, Alemeth and Anathoth, together with their pasture-lands. The total number of towns distributed among the Kohathite clans came to thirteen.


These were the descendants of Ehud, who were heads of families of those living in Geba and were deported to Manahath:


from Beth Gilgal, and from the area of Geba and Azmaveth, for the musicians had built villages for themselves around Jerusalem.
