Then God said, ‘Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.’ And it was so.


and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.’ And it was so.


And God said, ‘Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.’ And it was so.


God called the vault ‘sky’. And there was evening, and there was morning – the second day.


And God said, ‘Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.’ And it was so.


He wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.


He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains.


who by his understanding made the heavens, His love endures for ever.


Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.


The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.


Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.


If clouds are full of water, they pour rain on the earth. Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there it will lie.


The men were amazed and asked, ‘What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!’
