Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,


and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal those who were ill.


Jesus said to him, ‘Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.’


After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.


Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.


Crispus, the synagogue leader, and his entire household believed in the Lord; and many of the Corinthians who heard Paul believed and were baptised.


On hearing this, they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus.


Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.


Those who accepted his message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
