David sent word to Tamar at the palace: ‘Go to the house of your brother Amnon and prepare some food for him.’


Then she took the pan and served him the bread, but he refused to eat. ‘Send everyone out of here,’ Amnon said. So everyone left him.


‘Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.’ Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’


The woman had a fattened calf at the house, which she slaughtered at once. She took some flour, kneaded it and baked bread without yeast.
