Then one of them said, ‘Won’t you please come with your servants?’ ‘I will,’ Elisha replied.


As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axe-head fell into the water. ‘Oh no, my lord!’ he cried out. ‘It was borrowed!’


For instance, a man may go into the forest with his neighbour to cut wood, and as he swings his axe to fell a tree, the head may fly off and hit his neighbour and kill him. That man may flee to one of these cities and save his life.


together with your children and your wives, and the foreigners living in your camps who chop your wood and carry your water.
