But He saves the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.


You shall be hidden from the whip of the tongue; neither shall you be afraid of robbery when it comes.


Arise, O Jehovah; O God, lift up Your hand; forget not the humble.


to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, so that the man of the earth may no more terrify.


His ways are always perverted; Your judgments are high, out of his sight. As for all his enemies, he puffs at them.


How great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You; You have worked for those who trust in You before the sons of men!


This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard, and saved him out of all his troubles.


They scoff and speak in malice of cruelty; from on high they speak.


And Pharaoh said, Who is Jehovah, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know Jehovah, neither will I let Israel go.


He who presses the poor curses his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy upon the poor.


Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit of it.


So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun. And behold the tears of the oppressed ones, and they had no comforter! And on the side of those who oppressed them there was power, but they had no comforter.


If you see the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, do not marvel at the matter. For He who is higher than the highest watches; and there are some higher than they.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served Jehovah. And His soul was moved by the misery of Israel.
