He has broken me on every side, and I am gone, and He has uprooted my hope like a tree.


As a shadow when it is stretched out, I am gone; I am shaken off like the locust.


Man is like vanity; his days are like a shadow that passes away.


For who knows what is good for man in life, all the days of his vain life which he spends as a shadow? For who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?


I the man have seen affliction by the rod of His wrath.


and the rich one rejoice in his humiliation, because he shall pass away as the flower of the grass.
