because he did not remember to do mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, and sought to kill the broken-hearted.


Be surety for Your servant for good; let not the proud press me down.


O that my ways were fixed to keep Your Precepts!


The proud have forged a lie against me; I will keep Your Commandments with all my heart.


The proud have dug pits for me, which are not according to Your Law.


The proud have hidden cords and a trap for me; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah.


Let the lying lips be put to silence; the lips which speak proudly against the righteous, with pride and scorn.


Do not let the foot of pride come against me, and do not let the hand of the wicked move me.


For the sin of their mouth is the word of their lips, even let them be taken in their pride; and for cursing and the lying which they speak.


His mischief shall return on his own head, and his violence shall come on his own crown.


Now I know that Jehovah is greater than all gods; for in the thing in which they were proved against them.


Do you still exalt yourself against My people, that you will not let them go?
