Hear, My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God.


Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done evil in Your sight; that You might be justified when You speak, and be clear when You judge.


Oh that My people had listened to Me, and Israel had walked in My ways!


Hear, O My people, and I will testify to you; O Israel, if you will listen to Me,


What more could have been done to my vineyard that I have not done in it? Who knows? I looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded rotten grapes.


O generation, see the Word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of darkness? Why do My people say, We roam freely; we will come no more to You?


So says Jehovah, What injustice have your fathers found in Me, that they have gone far from Me and have walked after vanity, and have become vain?


O My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab planned, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal, so that you may know the righteous acts of Jehovah.


But we know that whatever things the Law says, it says to those who are under the Law; so that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may be under judgment before God,
