The sacrifice of the wicked is a hateful thing to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.


Everyone proud in heart is hateful to Jehovah; though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.


And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood.


Then you shall call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

And when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, of a sad face. For they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to fast. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.


Therefore when you do your merciful deeds, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.


Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest that He will send out laborers into His harvest.


And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive it so that also your Father in Heaven may forgive you your trespasses.


And He said to them in His teaching, Beware of the scribes, who love to walk about in robes, and love greetings in the markets,


Woe to you, Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and greetings in the markets.


And He also spoke a parable to them to teach it is always right to pray, and not to faint,


And standing afar off, the tax-collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but struck on his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner!


who devour widows' houses, and make long prayers for a show; the same shall receive a more severe condemnation.


But woe to you who are rich! For you have received your consolation.


Before now you have asked nothing in My name; ask and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.


praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching to this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.


But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.
